The young virtuoso David Cassan shared some of his secrets with students of the Rainier III Academy of Music and the Conservatory of Nice during a masterclass held at the Cathedral's great organ.  The class took place in the presence of Olivier Vernet, official organist.

David Cassan is one of the few teachers of improvisation in France.  He is a renowned artist and the holder of numerous awards and distinctions, making him one of the most successful organists of his generation.  He has already performed at the International Organ Festival, held every summer for the past 14 years by the Department of Cultural Affairs, when he improvised at a "cine concert" featuring a screening of "The Phantom of the Opera."
