Digital Education Conference

As part of the Prince’s Government’s digital transition strategy, the Ministry of the Interior and the Interministerial Delegation for Digital Transition have drawn up an “e-education” road map, which sets out a vision for optimising education through digital technology and the responsible use of tools, while retaining the features that characterise the Monegasque educational system.

In this context, more than 200 of the Principality’s primary and secondary school teachers were invited to take part in a Digital Education Conference held at Monaco’s Vocational and Catering School.

At the conference, which was attended by Mr Patrice Cellario, Minister of the Interior, Mr Frédéric Genta, Country Chief Digital Officer, and Ms Isabelle Bonnal, Director of Education, Youth and Sport, Mr Jean-Marie Panazol, Director General of France’s Réseau Canopé and Inspector General of National Education, agreed to share his experience and expertise as a knowledgeable figure in this field.

In preparation for this major event, management teams, teachers and education advisors from the schools concerned were all invited by the Department of Education, Youth and Sport to express their needs and wishes for digital projects that would truly bring e-education into the classroom.

A summary of these contributions was considered alongside recent research and new practices within the field of education.

Participants then took part in 12 workshops to come up with some digital education projects. The themes of the workshops took account of the needs and wishes which had been expressed: the flipped classroom concept, educational robotics, computer programming, smart teaching, escape games, etc.

The conference’s conclusions will be submitted to the Prince’s Government, which will study the most relevant projects.
