Following an initial phase of work begun in 2018, the Department of Urban Amenities is launching a large-scale project to upgrade the telephone, public lighting, sewage and water supply networks on Avenue d’Ostende.

The aim is to install a separate network on Avenue d’Ostende that will start at Avenue Princesse Alice and reach as far as Place Sainte Dévote.

The Department of Urban Amenities will work with the various concession holders in the area, such as Monaco Telecom, Société Monégasque des Eaux, and Société Monégasque de l’Electricité et du Gaz, to put in place numerous measures to minimise the environmental impact of the work.

The work will move along the bus lane in phases to enable two-way traffic to be maintained.

To prevent noise and dust, acoustic barriers will be installed and day-to-day measures will be taken using the latest equipment.

The Department of Urban Amenities, which manages coordination between roadworks and the various cultural and sporting events in the Principality, has chosen this period as suitable for the network upgrades as it falls after the Grand Prix events and during the trial of the new roundabout on Place Sainte Dévote, which will help to keep traffic moving smoothly.

  • Work phases:

-           7 June to 22 October 2021: upgrading of public lighting and sewage networks.

-          22 October 2021 to 25 February 2022: installation of separate sewage networks up to Rue Princesse Alice.
