Frédéric Veaux, Director-General of the French National Police, pays official visit to Monaco

Mr Frédéric Veaux, Director-General of the French National Police, paid an official visit to the Principality of Monaco on 6 April at the invitation of the Prince’s Government

and Mr Richard MARANGONI, Inspector General of the Police Department.

Mr Veaux, together with Mr Jean-Jacques Colombi, Inspector-General for International Affairs, who was accompanying him, was received at the Police Department, then attended a working meeting with H.E. Mr Pierre DARTOUT, Minister of State, and Mr Patrice CELLARIO, Minister of the Interior.

Following this first meeting, another round table was held at the Yacht Club. This was attended by the Minister of the Interior and the general staff of the Police Department, and the aim was to further strengthen and expand international cooperation between the police services in the two countries.

In the afternoon, Mr VEAUX was received by H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince at the Prince’s Palace.

On conclusion of their meeting, the Sovereign thanked the Director-General of the National Police for his visit. The Director-General presented the Prince with a Police Commissioner’s sword, emphasising the significance he attaches to the partnership between France and the Principality of Monaco.

The Monaco Police Department and the French National Police hailed the excellent relationship between the two services and the trust that defines their day-to-day collaboration.

It is worth noting that this was the first official visit to Monaco by a Director-General of the National Police, as well as the first foreign trip for a bilateral working meeting by Mr Frédéric Veaux since he was appointed to the post in February 2020.
