INTERPOL's 88th General Assembly was held in Santiago, Chile, from 15 to 18 October 2019.  The Principality was represented by a delegation comprised of the Police Commissioner, Richard Marangoni, Chief Constable Stéphane Giorgetti, acting Head of the Criminal Investigation Division, and Commander Olivier Jude, Head of the International Cooperation Section.

At this forum, the Secretary General of INTERPOL, Jürgen Stock, was unanimously re-elected.  His first five-year term was agreed at INTERPOL's 83rd General Assembly, held in Monaco.

Over four days, this conference brought together almost 900 officials from 162 countries, including more than 70 ministers and police chiefs.  The work focused on current and future threats from organised crime and terrorism.

Among other matters, those present approved the idea of strengthening the role of a global platform for exchanging police information with increased sharing and enhanced data and information.

As a reminder, INTERPOL is the world's largest international police organisation, with 194 member countries.  Its aim is to enable police forces around the world to work together to make the world a safer place.

Taking part in INTERPOL's activities enables the Police Department to establish close links with the police forces of member countries; this international cooperation is particularly valuable in the context and development of the crime prevention policy in the Principality's territory.
