After a wide-ranging first consultation meeting at the Ministry of State on 23 May, the Prince’s Government, represented by the Minister of Health and Social Affairs, Christophe Robino, his teams at the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs and the Department of Employment, once again met with leading representatives of the hotel and restaurant sector on Tuesday 31 May.

The AIHM, representatives from the management and staff of SBM, delegations from the Syndicat Cuisiniers Pâtissiers, Tabliers Bleus, the Syndicat Hôtels Cafés Restaurants, and the USM, were all invited to the Ministry of State for a second working meeting. The event marked the starting point of a collective process of reflection, whose first objective is to establish pay scales for the industry.

Progress has already been made, at the initiative of some employers, and the Prince’s Government intends to look at ways of improving the attractiveness of this sector and for employees in general, particularly as regards issues to do with access to the Principality.

This policy of support and mediation reflects the Prince’s Government’s commitment to giving every chance to the consultation and social dialogue that underpin the Principality’s economic and social model.

In a constructive spirit, at the end of this morning of talks, the parties agreed to meet again on Friday 17 June at the Ministry of State, where they will discuss the initial concrete proposals put forward by the social partners.
