Prince’s Government pursues social dialogue in hotel and restaurant sectors

©DR

Minister of Health and Social Affairs Christophe Robino held a meeting on Friday 17 June with the Department of Employment, representatives from the Monaco Union of Trade Unions (USM) for the hotel and restaurant sector, and representatives from the Monegasque Hospitality Industry Association (AIHM), in the presence of members of the Federation of Employee Unions in Monaco (F2SM), to discuss the introduction of a pay scale for the sector. Implementation of a scale defining minimum wages identical to those recently adopted in France was considered.

It should be noted that there has been no agreement on updating these scales, which are lacking in the sector, since 1999.

Concerned about employees’ standard of living, the Government invited the employers’ associations and trade unions to continue their discussions, and committed to supporting them in doing so.

As part of the work of the Strategic Council for Attractiveness and in conjunction with the relevant ministries, the Government will also undertake a review on continuing to improve accessibility and transport conditions.
