Presentation of the Solidarity Challenge Prizes The Monegasque Administration is Recognised for its Commitment

On Monday 25 September 2017, the Prince's Government held a prize awards ceremony for the Monegasque Administration's "Solidarity Challenge."  The ceremony took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation with the aim of recognising the Departments that were the most involved in this participatory initiative.

From 12 to 30 June 2017, 600 civil servants, State officials and teachers voted for their favourite micro-entrepreneurs via the Babyloan online platform, Europe's leading online loans site.

This "Solidarity Challenge," which was organised for the 2nd year by the Department of International Cooperation, enabled 112 micro-entrepreneurs from 8 developing countries* to benefit from a loan of between EUR 80 and EUR 1,000.  This aid, granted by the Prince's Government, will make it possible for them to start or develop a professional activity in areas such as agriculture, trade, food and crafts.  As soon as the money is repaid, it will be loaned again to other entrepreneurs who are need of it.

To thank the many participants in this solidarity challenge, the Prince's Government awarded the following prizes:

  • The 1st Prize for Departments with 100% of the votes:  Department of e‑Government and Public Information
  • Joint 2nd Prize:  Human Resources and Training Department and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation
  • 3rd prize:  Department of Budget and Treasury
  • The Jury's Special Prize:  Department of Legal Affairs
  • Award for the best participation rate by group of voters:  Ministry of State

Last but not least, the Challenge Com Prize was awarded to the Monaco Fire and Emergency Service, in recognition of its creativity in a photo contest on the theme of solidarity within the framework of the "Solidarity Challenge."
