Diplomacy: accreditation of new ambassadors from Georgia – South Africa – Thailand

On Tuesday 22 September, at a lunch held at the Hotel Hermitage, Laurent Anselmi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, received H.E. Ms Tea Katukia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Georgia; H.E. Mr Tebogo Seokolo, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Africa; and H.E. Mr Sarun Charoensuwan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand.

The diplomats presented their credentials to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince during the morning.

H.E. Ms Tea Katukia has spent almost 20 years in France and Italy working on European and international issues in the fields of institutional communication, research and science journalism. Alongside her university studies, Tea Katukia gained professional experience at the major French think tanks specialising in European issues. Her roles have included Secretary-General of the Centre d’Analyse et de Prévision des Risques Internationaux (Centre for the Analysis and Forecasting of International Risks) and Editor-in-Chief of the magazine Diplomatie (Diplomacy).

H.E. Mr Tebogo Seokolo joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Deputy Director in 1995, soon after democracy was established in South Africa. During his career, he has served as Chief Director for Western Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as Deputy Chief of State Protocol, among other roles. Since being promoted to the rank of Ambassador, he has represented his country in Turkey, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, and at the United Nations.

Having joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1987, H.E. Mr Sarun Charoensuwan worked in various departments before being appointed Divisional Director for Peace, Security and Disarmament in the Department of International Organisations. He continued his career within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, serving as Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, the Department of East Asian Affairs and then the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs. He was appointed as an Ambassador in 2015 and accredited to represent his country in the Republic of Korea.
