As part of the “Extended Monaco” programme and in partnership with the Department of Education, Youth and Sport, students can now apply for study grants for the coming academic year online, via the Prince’s Government website. Also available is the social advancement grant, another form of assistance aimed at those looking to resume their studies or to retrain for a new profession.

To receive a study grant or social advancement grant, applicants must meet one of the following conditions:

-          A Monegasque national, spouse or foreign dependent of a Monegasque national, child of a State official/civil servant, resident in the Principality of Monaco for at least 10 years;

-          Aged under 26 for study grants;

-          Aged under 50 for social advancement grants.

“The Prince’s Government has always taken care to support the young people of the Principality in accessing the best possible higher education. So it was important for the Digital Transition to be a force for positive change for students following demanding courses with fine future prospects. This new, more modern and more interactive procedure, will enable applications to be processed optimally, securely, and quickly by the State Aid and Student Life Unit of the Department of Education, Youth and Sport, which is the point of contact for students and families concerned. This new development reflects the Prince’s Government’ commitment to offering users a high quality service adapted to their changing needs and varied expectations,” explains Isabelle Bonnal, Commissioner General for Education, Youth and Sport.

“Admission to higher education is a key step for our talents. It is a big moment in their lives, which entails numerous administrative formalities, whether they are just starting their studies, or returning after a few years in the world of employment. Simplifying these formalities is part of our policy aimed at modernising the Administration’s services,”  says Julien Dejanovic, Director of Digital Services.

Each grant is calculated on the basis of several criteria, including;

-          Household composition and resources;

-          Applicant’s status (full-time, employee, apprentice).
