Frédéric Genta, Country Chief Digital Officer, and Julien Dejanovic, Director of Digital Services, met the press yesterday morning to provide an initial update on the progress of the digital transformation of public services, which aims to improve quality of life for Monegasque nationals and residents.
As part of the Extended Monaco programme, and in collaboration with all of the Ministries in the Prince’s Government, more than 80 everyday services have been moved online in the last two years. These include the allocation of state-owned housing, applications for study grants, lycée (and soon collège) enrolment, residence permit applications and renewals, and booking appointments at the Department of Employment, Employment Office and Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office.

Thanks to the single point of access MonGuichet.mc, which is compatible with the sovereign and highly secure Monegasque digital identity, these services are now easier to use, quicker and more effective. They can be accessed at any time, thanks to the use of digital technology.
In addition, all forms are also available in English, and users who encounter difficulties with the services can contact a call centre for assistance, ensuring that Monaco’s online services are highly inclusive.

The aim is to simplify administrative procedures and support people at important moments in their lives: getting married, giving birth, moving house, settling in Monaco for the first time, educating children, managing a vehicle, entering university education, looking for a job, etc.

For civil servants and government employees, moving services online enables optimum, secure handling of requests and applications, making the process quicker.

The excellent quality of services in the Principality means that Monaco today serves as a template for the digital world. By refocusing on services for our users, the Government is making a major contribution to the Principality’s attractiveness,” stresses Frédéric Genta.

Overall, moving public services online has proved extremely popular: nearly 80% of users in the Principality opt for the online version of a service where available – during the call for applications for state-owned housing in January 2022, for example, or for vehicle technical inspections, where 3,800 appointments have already been booked online.
