The five new start-ups* selected following the call for applications launched in February 2019 joined MonacoTech on Tuesday 28 May. They were welcomed by Jean Castellini, Minister of Finance and Economy.

In his speech, Mr Castellini emphasised that “these start-ups are part of an economic development and positioning strategy for the Principality, a means to communicate both internally and beyond our borders, by projecting a new image of Monaco: a digital Monaco which is more modern, more open to the world and ready to face the challenges that await us.”

For the rest of this week, the new start-ups will be taking part in daily workshops and individual meetings organised by the Director and Programme Director at MonacoTech. The aim is to work out the next steps in terms of support and to set out a tailored road map for each company.

The projects selected by MonacoTech are ambitious and pioneering projects in line with the country’s strategy. Selected start-ups are encouraged to grow in an environment of trust and to take advantage not only of a unique international ecosystem, but also of individual follow-up and a programme focused on applying best practices. They are reviewed every six months by an independent committee to assess their progress.
