Department of Education, Youth and Sport

Role

The Department of Education, Youth and Sport has the remit of implementing the Prince's Government policy in the following areas:

Education:

  • The organisation and administration of primary, secondary, vocational and higher education
  • The implementation of reforms to education programmes, training and the recruitment of teachers
  • Monitoring of private educational institutions
  • Guidance on selecting and applying for schools and universities

Youth:

  • Implementing youth projects
  • Planning new measures
  • Communication to young people, associations and youth movements in the Principality

Sport:

  • Managing all State sports establishments and relations with sports associations using such establishments
  • The implementation of schools programmes in cooperation with physical education and sports teachers
  • Drafting development plans for sport in schools
