H.E. Ms. Berro-Amadeï, Ambassador of Monaco to Germany, along with Monaco Tourist and Convention Authority, jointly undertook several promotional campaigns in connection with the highly exclusive "Berlin Capital Club" from 11 to 14 April 2016.

These promotional events, aimed at the press, tourism professionals and opinion leaders, were centred on Monegasque gastronomy, which was showcased by chef Sylvain Etiévant.

The first evening, for the Berlin press, took place at the Berlin Capital Club in the presence of the Ambassador of Monaco to Germany, H.E. Ms. Berro-Amadeï, the Director of the Tourist and Convention Authority, Mr. Guillaume Rose, and their staff.  Forty or so journalists from the generalist and specialist press had the opportunity to attend a short presentation and enjoy a dinner that had been specially prepared by the Monegasque chef.

The following day, an event devoted to leisure tourism was attended by 80 agencies and tour operators, who were able to find out about the Principality's latest innovations in detail and enjoy Monegasque cuisine, with a chance to win hotel breaks offered by Monaco's partner hotels.

To bring this gastronomic week to a close, sixty celebrities from the German capital, selected from among the Embassy's best contacts, as well Berlin's leading conference organisers, were able to discover some Monegasque specialities prepared by chef Sylvain Etiévant, whose tasty, authentic food was greatly enjoyed by all the guests.

With an average of 40,000 hotel nights per year and numerous conferences, Germany is the sixth country of origin for foreign tourists in Monaco.  It is also a valued economic partner for the Principality and provides an audience of connoisseurs for Monaco's various cultural entities, whose value is recognised.  This opportunity to sample Monegasque gastronomy has further strengthened this success.

"The Berlin Capital Club" is a highly exclusive club with 1,600 members, for leaders and entrepreneurs from the capital, Berlin.

Chef Sylvain Etiévant has spent most of his career with the Société des Bains de Mer, in particular at the Hôtel de Paris.  He trained with Mario Muratore and Alain Ducasse, whose "lineage" he proudly acknowledges.  He encourages respect for the products, rigour and expertise.
