From 3 to 7 October, Monaco Tourist and Convention Authority (DTC) and its representative office in the United States and Canada undertook a promotional tour in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.  The North American branch of "Atout France," the tourism promotion body in France, was also present to help promote the Principality.

The Deputy Director of Monaco Tourist and Convention Authority, Guy Antognelli, headed the Monegasque delegation for the occasion.  He was accompanied by Valérie Tomatis Nouailhac, Press Relations Officer and Laurence Aquilina, who is responsible for the North American market at the DTC's Marketing and Sales Department.  Cindy Hoddeson, Camille Cussac and Maria Tuttocuore, from the New York Office, were also present.

Canada is ranked 10th among source markets providing visitors to Monaco.  Moreover, Canada has an ever-growing air service, with departures from several major cities to the destination of Nice airport.

The Monegasque tourism representatives were given a warm welcome.  They met with many travel agents, tour operators, and journalists.

At meetings held with these professionals, members of the DTC received the help of the Principality's consular corps.  They were accompanied in Montreal by Ms. Diane Vachon, Consul General of Monaco, and later by Mr. Jacques Becker, Consul of Monaco in Vancouver.

These meetings were an opportunity to note the keen interest in Monaco, both in Quebec and the English-speaking areas of Canada, and to make many useful contacts.
