2016 photo competition – 40 years of RAMOGE: the Mediterranean in all its guises

As part of the celebrations of its fortieth anniversary, the RAMOGE Agreement is launching a photo competition open to everyone.

Since 1976, the RAMOGE Agreement has been a tool for scientific, technical and administrative cooperation between the governments of Monaco, France and Italy to protect and preserve the marine environment in the zone which extends from Marseille in France to La Spezia in Italy.

Conscious that preserving the marine environment concerns all users of the sea, to mark its fortieth anniversary the RAMOGE Agreement is seeking to engage the general public, suggesting that everyone demonstrate their commitment to the Mediterranean’s rich and fragile heritage by taking part in a photo competition.

There are three themes, illustrating the Agreement’s main areas of work:

1.      Symbolic and vulnerable marine species of the Mediterranean

2.      Waste: a threat to the Mediterranean

3.      The remarkable natural coastal landscapes of the RAMOGE area

The contest will be open to all amateur photographers from 4 April to 30 June.

The award ceremony will be held on 20 September 2016 at a lecture and discussion at the Oceanographic Museum to celebrate the Agreement’s fortieth anniversary, during which the selected photographs will be presented to the public.

A prize worth €300 will be awarded to the winners.
